How do you handle a mean rejection?
What do you do? What do you say?
Let’s make one thing clear: if someone is rude or hateful towards you, it’s time to say ‘no’ to them – immediately, even if only in your mind. You don’t need to do or say anything.
You owe no explanation and I would not suggest trying to justify or argue.
Why would you want to waste your time?
The only question you should be asking yourself is, ‘Do I really want to work with or deal with the kind of person who would respond and treat another person this way?‘
And the answer in that moment should be, heck no.
Life is too short and there are too many fish in the sea… too many other prospects and potential opportunities to allow mean or angry people into your life.
So kindly bow out of the interaction, using any phrasing you wish if any at all.
And be glad you did.
